So, buckle up and enjoy our head-to-head battle between console gaming’s two most popular racing simulators - Forza Motorsport 7 and Gran Turismo Sport.įorza Motorsport 7 vs Gran Turismo Sport: Graphics Microsoft had got tired of seeing Sony’s absolute domination of the sim racing market, and they had arrived to take their piece of the pie, and they did so in style.Īs the two have continued to battle it out over the years, with each pushing the boundaries with each generation, Forza Motorsport 7 and Gran Turismo Sport remain the most popular console sim racing games you can get your hands on in the present day.Īfter three years of maintaining the top spots of the four-wheel racing genre, we’ve arrived at the all-important question - which game is best?įirstly, we’ll whet your appetite with this excellent comparison video from DigitalFoundry, where they’re able to show you both games in all their 4k, 60fps glory:Īlthough both games provide what they feel is the ultimate racing simulator, it’s clear that they each have a fascinatingly unique stance in their approach when it comes to the perfect racing simulator, which we’ll take an in-depth look at in this guide. Just six months after the hugely successful launch of Gran Turismo 4, that all changed – enter Forza Motorsport. Gran Turismo 3 and 4 continued to blow the minds of racing gamers worldwide, and it continued to remain as the pinnacle, to the point where it was challenging to imagine it ever having any real risk of competition entering the market. After firing it up, and spending way too many hours glued to the screen, it certainly lived up to the hype and expectations as it unquestionably revolutionized console sim racing. I have a clear memory of physically shaking as I got my hands on Gran Turismo 2 for the PlayStation as a kid. In the early generations of the Playstation, before the Xbox had even reached the marketplace, there was no real contender when it came to sim racing. So, start your engines, as it’s about to go down! It’s been more than three years since Microsoft launched Forza Motorsport 7 to the market, and Sony yet again fueled the fire with the on-going bitter rivalry just two weeks later with the PlayStation alternative - Gran Turismo Sport.Īlthough on the surface, these racing simulators appear to be the same product produced by two different companies, the reality is very different, and this is perhaps more prominent than ever.Īs fanboys for each console were yelling about which game was superior from the rooftops (well, online forums.) It sometimes becomes hard to hear through the noise to decide the better of the two.įor that reason, we’ve opted to provide our own unbiased opinion after years of owning both consoles and enjoying the best that both games have to offer to conclude which one we feel is the worthy winner. We feel this provides the perfect opportunity to reflect on how Forza Motorsport 7 and Gran Turismo Sport have stacked against each other as the current generations come to an end. In recent months, both Forza and Gran Turismo have announced their next-gen games for the brand-new Xbox Series X and PS5 consoles, along with providing sneak previews of what’s to come. It's a credit card machine with built-in limitations made to make you spend money, and tons, tons, and tons of time if you want any chance at experiencing everything the "game" has to offer.Forza Motorsport 7 and Gran Turismo Sport have been the pinnacles of console sim racing games, but as we prepare for the next-gen, which was best? We’re putting them head-to-head in this guide. Basically there is no positive redeeming factor that makes this "game" worth playing. Then there's no lobby host migration so as soon as the host leaves, everybody is kicked from the game. Then there's bugs, which make online play nearly impossible because the console freezes every time somebody joins the lobby, leaves the lobby, enters the track, and leaves the track. You have to spend thousands of hours, logging in and playing for hours a day to achieve any progress toward the things which are locked behind RNG mechanics, such as certain cars which require invitations to buy, cars that cost millions upon millions of credits, which you can buy 2 million credits for $20, engine swaps which are locked behind roulette tickets which you rarely get, and then are locked to certain cars of which it does not tell you which, you have to rely on the community for information, then there's car parts locked behind roulette tickets which you can not get elsewhere. You have to be rich and have no job in order to enjoy this game. There's too many negatives to list so I'll keep it short. Honestly I've written too much elsewhere to put a lot of effort here.

The A-880 has remained the heart of my studio since arriving back in the early 1990’s. For example, to set a control channel of 12: You set this channel by pressing Memory + Write, then one of the 16 input/output buttons. You can change programs on the A-880 by sending it patch change messages on the Control In port, using the Control MIDI Channel.

Bitcoin Core also tries to strike a balance between minimizing delays and avoiding unnecessary DNS seed use: if Bitcoin Core has entries in its peer database, it spends up to 11 seconds attempting to connect to at least one of them before falling back to seeds if a connection is made within that time, it does not query any seeds.īoth Bitcoin Core and BitcoinJ also include a hardcoded list of IP addresses and port numbers to several dozen nodes which were active around the time that particular version of the software was first released. To avoid this possible delay, BitcoinJ always uses dynamic DNS seeds to get IP addresses for nodes believed to be currently active. This can add a significant delay to the amount of time it takes to connect to the network, forcing a user to wait before sending a transaction or checking the status of payment. However, peers often leave the network or change IP addresses, so programs may need to make several different connection attempts at startup before a successful connection is made. Bitcoin Core keeps a record of known peers in a persistent on-disk database which usually allows it to connect directly to those peers on subsequent startups without having to use DNS seeds. Once a program has connected to the network, its peers can begin to send it addr (address) messages with the IP addresses and port numbers of other peers on the network, providing a fully decentralized method of peer discovery. For this reason, programs should not rely on DNS seeds exclusively. In either case, nodes are added to the DNS seed if they run on the default Bitcoin ports of 8333 for mainnet or 18333 for testnet.ĭNS seed results are not authenticated and a malicious seed operator or network man-in-the-middle attacker can return only IP addresses of nodes controlled by the attacker, isolating a program on the attacker’s own network and allowing the attacker to feed it bogus transactions and blocks. The DNS seeds are maintained by Bitcoin community members: some of them provide dynamic DNS seed servers which automatically get IP addresses of active nodes by scanning the network others provide static DNS seeds that are updated manually and are more likely to provide IP addresses for inactive nodes. Also, for privacy, actual IP addresses in the example output below have been replaced with RFC5737 reserved IP addresses. Both programs are flexible, so only default behavior is described. To provide practical examples of the Bitcoin peer-to-peer network, this section uses Bitcoin Core as a representative full node and BitcoinJ as a representative SPV client. Many SPV clients also use the Bitcoin network protocol to connect to full nodes.Ĭonsensus rules do not cover networking, so Bitcoin programs may use alternative networks and protocols, such as the high-speed block relay network used by some miners and the dedicated transaction information servers used by some wallets that provide SPV-level security. Pruned nodes are full nodes which do not store the entire blockchain. Archival nodes are full nodes which store the entire blockchain and can serve historical blocks to other nodes. Full nodes download and verify every block and transaction prior to relaying them to other nodes. That said, we've never found a real use for that media server functionality. You can use hotspots with big batteries as power banks to charge your phone or hotspots with microSD card slots as tiny servers to share media over Wi-Fi. Those features are on pretty much all dedicated routers nowadays, but you can't take them for granted on mobile hotspots. Some hotspots also support guest networks and access controls, such as MAC filtering and time-based access controls. Make sure your hotspot supports 5GHz Wi-Fi, which is typically faster and less congested than 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. Unfortunately, 5G hotspots that support millimeter-wave generally don't have external antenna ports. TS9 is a standard, and these antennas cost much less than a cellular signal booster does. Many high-quality hotspots have TS9 external antenna ports to help you improve your signal using inexpensive antennas you can purchase online. That means you may get 5Mbps to 10Mbps whereas your phone gets 25Mbps to 30Mbps, for instance. Other hotspots out there, including everything the virtual carriers currently sell, use three- or four-year-old modems that have lower speeds and worse signal strength than the best new phones. The best 4G hotspots, including the MiFi 8000 and MiFi 8800L, use the Qualcomm X20 or X24 modems. That's two generations behind the latest phones, but it's the best you can get right now. Quality 5G hotspots such as the Verizon Orbic Speed 5G UW Mobile Hotspot and Netgear M5 use the Qualcomm X55 modem. That means recent phones will get better speeds than older hotspots do. The three big carriers have been frantically upgrading their networks recently, and in many cases, network capabilities have now outstripped the quality of older hotspots running on them. Now that road warriors are out and about again, these devices are more important than ever. And folks who can't get the carriers' dedicated wireless internet plans may still find they fall back on hotspots. Vacation home and RV owners might also use hotspots for their roaming, part-time homesteads. Now, food trucks and other outdoor-dwelling small businesses use hotspots to light up their POS systems and get their Seamless orders. So, who's using hotspots, for now? Before COVID-19, it was road warriors-business people who need reliable connections on the go that support multiple devices and don't drain their phones' batteries. AT&T (Opens in a new window), T-Mobile, and Verizon (Opens in a new window) all sell wireless home internet in various parts of the country, along with a wide range of smaller, local wireless internet service providers (WISPs). Recent wireless-internet plans are more likely to have truly unlimited data than hotspot plans. It relies on larger, less portable routers that generally stay in one location. There is such a thing as wireless home internet, however, and it's differently from hotspots. But if they do, you are going to quickly run up against those data bucket limits. So, if your needs don't involve video or music streaming, a wireless hotspot may be a viable alternative for your home. All of those Zoom calls for work and school are likely to eat up a data cap quickly, as well. The median US home broadband subscriber uses more than 355GB of data per month (Opens in a new window), mostly because of video streaming services such as Hulu and Netflix. They cost much more per byte than a home DSL or cable setup. Hotspot plans aren't designed for primary home use. Be sure to bring lots of potions and some burn heal, as the cave will burn (and damage) your team while walking. Equip some DEF-cores and buy potions.Īt some point you will see a stone with inscriptions blocking your path. This means, you need to have only ONE Nexomon with you and it needs to be a GRASS type. To fight them you need to face them while being in a disadvantage. You can meet them after solving three very simple ice puzzles. When you enter the area the key is in you will see a destroyed house in the north and some water with a bridge to the west of you. Strange looking plants that I mistook as "weird orb podest" first. If you don't have all of them, you can find them at the Dragon Isles. Step 1: You need four different cooking ingredients. Before jumping in make sure to find all scouts that got lost, to receive a berry that's required for #420 Volcel. The following Nexomon can be found in grass patches (except Braccus, because there's no grass in the vulcanic cave) close to where you encountered them in the story, after asking Eliza for her help.īut before you can do that, or fight the final boss, you need to defeat all abyssal-tyrants in the story first.Īt the north east in the labyrinth where you barely see anything, is a hole you can jump into. And to help someone else to maybe write a guide, because I'm too lazy and too insecure about my English skills. I'm done with the collection and a bit happy that I maybe can provide something for someone on this site for once instead of just consuming. Due to the stupid level scaling all my enemies have been level99. But yes, it's a bit harder than he base game. At least I didn't find any resources anywhere about anything. And due to not having new trophies nobody seems to know it got a free update. Sadly this game didn't receive new trophies but existing trophies got harder, as the DLC added 46 "new" Nexomon. I assume you can prevent that from happening if you don't play with Salem, which I did very early in the game, as I started after the update. I don't know the exact requirement to start the DLC, but it starts at some point by just entering the orphan home map. Be sure to have the "Defeat every tamer twice"-trophy before starting the DLC, as this trophy seems to be broken after the DLC-start-event got triggered because it removes some tamers (these at the skeleton-areas) from the world. Since the roll of dice are random, the Rules.Game class also has a FakeRoll function for testing, which of course isn't accessible from the client. One main priority was to keep network traffic low, in case many users start playing at the same time. The game rules are developed in C# and is a part of the backend. I also realized early that the game state had to be kept on the server and that the client should have as little game rules as possible. TDD is my choice of method when calculations get complicated and you don't want to spend hours and days tracking down ugly bugs. For these reasons, I decided to develop the rules of the game using Test Driven Development (TDD) and keep them in a separate DLL. If the move of a checker prevents using the other dice, you can't move that checker. But there are a few complex situations also, for example that you always have to use both dice if you can. If the opponent has only one checker on a point, you can hit it and that checker is moved to the bar, forced to start from point zero. If an opponent has two or more checkers on a point, that point is blocked. The rules (3) of Backgammon might look quite simple at first: Roll the dice and move checkers the number you get on the dice towards your home. The communication between frontend and backend is done with websockets during game play and a REST API for everything else.įor frontend, I use Angular 15 and the game board is drawn on an HTML canvas element. I could not take my eyes off of lens blur and bought a refill pan. Last year Black Friday there was a deal on the MAC website for 40% off on eyes. I was looking for a good deep berry color eye shadow under my budget. This next-generation matte formula is available in lip-toned colors translated for the eyes. Its exclusive Cream Matrix formula allows for an ultra-creamy, exceptionally soft, and gliding texture. The highly blendable, the luxurious formula smooths onto lids with unbelievable slip. Enwrap eyes with pillow-soft, matte color using Soft-Focus Filter Technology that delivers a beautifully diffused, blurring effect. Experience a weightless kiss of color with Powder Kiss Soft Matte Eye Shadow. MAC describes it further, the velvet comfort you love on your lips – now for your lids. You might need a generous amount of shadow for application unless you want to throw a soft color on eyelids in a jiffy. You can apply a light foundation on your lid to help this color appear in its original form. But there are other ways you can still pull it off. So, on medium to deep skin tones, this color might not show up well. However, it is not as pigmented as it looks in the pan. I love this powdery eyeshadow and glides smoothly across the lid. It provided semi-opaque, buildable color coverage. It had a soft consistency that was slightly powdered yet felt more velvety, almost smooth to the touch, but not as opaque as I was expecting. MAC ‘Lens Blur’ Powder Kiss Soft Matte Eye Shadow has a gorgeous matte berry color with cool undertones. It is a soft-matte, cool tone berry color eye shadow. MAC described “Lens Blur” as a bright rich violet. A pillow-soft, matte, pressed-powder eye shadow with an ultra-creamy texture that delivers a beautifully diffused, blurring effect on lids.
